新冠肺炎全球肆虐，不但奪走數百萬人的性命，也讓許多人步調大亂，生活一直無法回到常軌。土耳其一名56歲男子卡亞桑（Muzaffer Kayasan）從確診以來，已經78次篩檢呈現陽性、被隔離長達14個月，創下當地罹患新冠肺炎最長時間紀錄。
綜合外國媒體報導，卡亞桑在2020年11月首次感染新冠病毒，之後就住進醫院隔離，雖然過了幾天病情減輕，但是在過去的14個月當中，他一共接受過78次篩檢，結果每一次都呈現陽性，期間他在醫院和自家分別隔離了9個月和5個月，長達14個月的時間無法外出。
卡亞桑目前在家中隔離，只能透過窗戶看到家人，不但社交生活完全停擺，甚至無法出門接種疫苗，妻子和兒子的新冠篩測都呈現陰性。他坦言：「這是一個非常艱難的過程，我已經康復了，但我的身體裡仍殘留著新冠病毒，這是我對持續呈現陽性反應的唯一解釋」。
媒體報導指出，卡亞桑患有白血病，免疫力比常人還低，因此新冠病毒無法在卡亞桑的血液中消除，才會一直呈現陽性反應。
